“Ayurveda is a model that says Spirit and Soul come first, Mind and Body comes later…."
Dr. Deepak Chopra

The Creating Health Workshop developed by the Chopra Center offers an exploration of mind-body medicine and Ayurveda. The course is designed for the general public who have had little or no previous understanding of these concepts. Each of the lessons includes instructions in practical approaches of mind-body medicine that participants can begin using in their daily lives.

Ayurveda is an ancient Indian healing system which dates back almost 5000 years. Meaning the science of life, Ayurveda  is making a comeback after almost being lost for many centuries. In the West, Doctors Deepak Chopra and David Simon have played a large part in the resurrection of this wonderful, gentle, comprehensive, self-care, conscious-based healing system. Ayurveda looks at not only the physical symptoms of illness, but also the body type, emotions, lifestyle, stress levels and the environment in which we live. The techniques taught in the Creating Health Workshop are easy to learn and perform and are invaluable in enhancing traditional Western medical treatments.

As human beings with different life experience, we each respond in contrasting ways to all that life has to offer. Ayurvedic wisdom takes into account our uniqueness and by using that wisdom, we can tailor our daily routine that moves us to our next level of being. In this process, we begin to integrate our mind, body and spirit. When any of these aspects are out of balance, we experience a loss of wholeness. Incorporating Ayurvedic wisdom into our lives helps us restore that memory of wholeness to our mind-body system. By understanding the true nature of ourselves and the Universe we are empowered to lead a more joyful, healthy, and vibrant life.

The goal of this course is to bring about a deeper understanding of ourselves and the world around us. To become intimate with the spirit, mind and body is to acquire inner power. This power allows us to heal old wounds and create new bodies that are more flexible, more dynamic, healthier and longer lasting than we ever imagined. You will learn how health is not just being free of disease, but how the integration of our mind, body and spirit in our environment will improve our quality of life.

This course provides the tools to do the inner work.

The essential foundation of mind-body medicine is the recognition that for every experience in the mind, there is a corresponding change in the physiology and biochemistry of our body. We have a vast internal pharmacy that can be accessed through the conscious choices we make in our lives. This workshop teaches that lifestyle is very important and we can make better conscious choices that will bring us in balance and restore our memory of wholeness.
